BEN KOLARCIK has always had a knack for making a good impression. Born into a large family, he learned at a young age how to articulate himself and be heard. As early as middle school, he began singing and playing guitar in front of thousands of people. After graduating high school, Ben began pursuing his career as a solo artist.
The first independent album, self-titled "Ben Kolarcik" was released in 2001 drawing attention from industry executives for his progressive pop/rock style, and shortly after, was given the opportunity to perform both across the US and abroad. While in New Zealand, at the renowned Parachute Festival, Ben received a call from a major label in Nashville asking for a meeting. It was here that Ben was introduced to Justin Unger. The two artists collaborated, and in a matter of months, wrote and recorded "Across the Sky". In July of 2003, their eponymous debut album was released under Word/Curb/Warner Bros. records.
This critically acclaimed duo performed all over the world, received a GMA Dove Award nomination for New Artist of the Year, and toured for the next three (3) years alongside acts like Mark Schultz, MercyMe, and Michael W. Smith. Their visibility continued to rise from song placement on the television show "One Tree Hill" and having the song "Masquerade" featured on the platinum selling "WOW Hits" compilation.
Following this season of touring and travels, the next destination was the west coast. The journey from Nashville to Los Angeles happened in 2007. This move to California served as more than the home base for Ben's music but also where he headed up the Worship Arts ministry at Discovery Church. 2011 brought further opportunity as he was sought out to be the Executive Pastor of Worship & Media at Cornerstone Chapel just outside of Washington D.C. This serves as a church home to more than 3,500 people each weekend.
Most recently, BEN KOLARCIK has completed work on a brand new album with producer, Adam Smith. The album "Room to Breathe" released on iTunes and other mainstream digital outlets to widespread acclaim. Additionally, the worship songs of BEN KOLARCIK have been featured on the "SongSeeker" CD at the Saddleback Worship Conference and the "Top 20 Indie Worship" album released by IndieHeaven and Indelible Creative Group.
Perhaps as the latest EP "Prelude" suggests, this storyline is but a precursor of things to come. So as many a fan and critic alike have discovered, the spirit-filled music of BEN KOLARCIK is an experience you do not want to miss.
